Hi everyone!

This will eventually become a page (like the “About” and “Contact” pages in my blog’s menu if you’re on mobile and at the top of the screen if you’re on desktop) but I wanted to write it out and share it now!

I have some very talented and creative friends who have blogs and I’d love to share them with you! Here are some blogs to peruse when I update, er, less than frequently. I’ll put them in alphabetical order because I can’t possibly rank all these different and wonderful types of writing.

“Agua de Coco” belongs to a fantastic Polish couple I met when I was studying abroad in the Czech Republic, who now live in Lisbon, Portugal. They make me EXTREMELY jealous of all the fun trips and adventures they take! (They are left and second from right in the header picture for this blog entry.)

Akhilesh Pillalamarri: Scholarly Musings” is just that. Akhi is technically an Internet friend, but don’t hold that against him- his blog is intellectual and always very well researched.

Involuntary Adulthood” is a humorous and informative blog about the struggle to find your own way after college. It’s written by two college friends and is a regular on my reading list.

“Jordyn in Wanderlust” is written by a delightful young woman I met while studying abroad. She is American but has gone back to the Czech Republic to teach English and posts about culture shock, the expat life, and travel in general.

“Katherine Hill” belongs to a very thoughtful woman I met in college. Her posts really make me think- not that the others in this list don’t, but I always know when I see a new post on her blog that I’ll have something to muse about later.

Meiwa Fill You In” is run by a college friend who is currently teaching English in Japan. In a conversational tone, he really brings you into his world.

“The Mischief of Being” this is my wonderful cousin Rebecca’s recently revived blog, and I hope she continues to post on her musings. Recent posts relate to changing your name when you get married, reading and being attached to books, and body positivity.

An Odyssey of Flavors” is a food blog I’m proud to be a part of, but I’m a very small part. The concept is food from all viewpoints, different types of ethnic cuisine, and even space food!

This AmeriKenyan Life” I almost didn’t include this one as the last post was two years ago, but my high school friend Megan wrote some AMAZING blog posts about life as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Kenya in 2010-2012 and subsequent adventures around Europe on her way home. This blog has a great set of archives for poking around on a rainy day.

Enjoy, and if any readers of this blog run their own and would like a mention, don’t hesitate to let me know! Unless you blog about murdering puppies or something, then really….. don’t let me know.

  1. I’m thinking how great it is that you’ve stayed so connected to your college friends, and also thinking of how challenging it was to contact people for a recent memorial for a mutual friend. It’s sometimes said that all this internet-based social contact keeps people from really interacting with each other “in the real world”, but here you have a real example of how it does actually keep you connected to people. Uh-oh, does this mean it’s time for your mom to join Facebook?
